<Repertoire Requirements & Regulations>

 

* Age Group 

      - Youth : Up to Age 14

      - Junior : Age 15 to Age 18

      - Senior : Age 19 to Age 22

      - Professional : Age 23 to Age 35

 

* Solo Category

   •   Arranged music is not permitted.

   •   Applicants may choose one piece from the standard repertoire (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, or Contemporary) for the live audition or video submission.

   •   One movement of a sonata may be accepted as one piece.

   •   Vocalists may choose ONE piece from the following categories: Opera Aria or Classical Repertoire.

   •   All auditions must be performed from memory, with the exception of:

   •   Contemporary works (composed after 1960),

   •   Chamber music,

   •   Sonata movements (except piano sonatas).

   •   No repeats should be taken at either the audition or recital.

   •   Under no circumstances may the audition piece (live audition, video file, or YouTube submission) be changed for the recital.

* Concerto Category

   •   Only one movement is required (for both audition and recital).

   •   All auditions must be performed from memory without exception.

   •   Applicants must contact us at infony­aic@gmail.com for repertoire approval before submitting the application.

   •   Vocalists may choose ONE piece from the following categories: Opera Aria or Classical Repertoire.

   •   Under no circumstances may the audition piece (live audition, video file, or YouTube submission) be changed for the recital.

    •    Piano Concerto Applicants: Contestants are strongly encouraged to submit a video recording performed with a second piano (two-piano accompaniment). Please note that a second piano will not be provided at the live audition venue.

* Ensemble Category

   •   Ensemble category: Maximum of 8 performers per group.

   •   Concerto (Two or More Performers) category: Maximum of 4 performers per group.

   •   Under no circumstances may the audition piece (live audition, video file, or YouTube submission) be changed for the recital.

* Accompanist

   •   Required: Contestants must provide their own accompanist for both the audition and recital.

   •   A list of local accompanists is available upon request and will be provided via email.

*Travel Expenses

   •   Participants are responsible for their own travel expenses.
